Advanced Technology
One of the engineering marvels of the "EFAS" project is automated technology discovery. During the 2000-year journey to the Kepler 452 system, artificial intelligence has been diligently performing scientific and technological calculations and simulations in an intricate virtual reality environment designed to mimic the real universe. Through random evolution, model construction, massively parallel simulations, and other methodologies, many technological breakthroughs were achieved. Scientists and engineers took great interest in studying some of these newly discovered technologies, depending on their practicality, usefulness, and versatility.
A few technologies of note are:
Advanced Technology No. 3: Dual Brain Cognition. The principle is to split the brain’s consciousness into two upon birth. A brain with dual consciousness can avoid having extreme ideaologies, and at the same time, cognitive abilities can be effectively improved. Rotation of the two consciousness eliminates the need to sleep. This technique has spread throughout the galaxy because of its practical nature.
Advanced Technology No. 10: Valkyrie Armor. With an exoskeleton made of a special alloy, this advanced combat armor comes with various mechanical capabilities: flying, super jump, super strength, fast reaction, and energy shielding. Depending on which abilities are included in the armor, it is classified into Titan, Ares, Heracles, Strategic, and Tactical Grade. The armor can even store consciousness. When a soldier is disabled or dying, she can transfer her consciousness into the armor and continue to fight.
Advanced Technology No. 98: Consciousness Remodeling. The consciousness remodeling of a living body removes the old consciousness and fills in a new consciousness, practically changing a person into someone else while maintaining the same appearance. But as this technology is not yet perfected, performing the remodeling procedure often results in aberrant and even extreme personalities.
Advanced Technology No. 19: Controlled Gene Mutation. A controlled gene mutation is the artificial interference in gene mutation, in which the result of the mutation is manipulated to be within an expected range. Possible mutations include giving mutants the ability to convert energy into elements, enabling them to seemingly wield “superpowers”.
Advanced Technology No. 67: Solid State Nano-Reconstruction. A nanobot swarm directly solidifies and extracts materials needed by the procedure from the atmosphere. After the nanobots and the extracted materials are fused, they are attached to a wound to repair or heal it. Not only external wounds but internal wounds can also be easily cured. If Hades wants you to die at dust, nanobots keep you alive till dawn.
Advanced Technology No. 2: One of the most interesting things the new mankind found out after their rebirth, is that the super AI aboard the Ark reinvented itself through the 2000-year journey, and became what is called an “Artificial Omniscience”, and named itself "Noah". By connecting itself with every computing device in the star system, "Noah" has formidable computing power, equivalent to the sum of all of mankind’s computing capability. At the same time, it continues to evolve. There are rumors of Noah having gained human sentience.
Advanced Technology No. 100: Sage Meditation. Whoever practices the Sage Meditation abandons all sexual desire, ambition and gives up sexual abilities to obtain enduring happiness and incredible longevity. It is too early to tell how long sages will live – they are possibly immortal.
Advanced Technology No. 99: The Yukawa Engine. By continually reducing the energy needed for quarks to switch quantum levels, macro objects can be instantly moved to different physical locations, practically making "teleportation" a reality. However, this technology is not yet mature enough to be used on large objects. If used to perform “wormhole jumps” on a spaceship, for example, the result could be disastrous.
Advanced Technology No. 42: Few people know what this technology entails. There are rumors that this technology was so utterly extreme and dangerous that scientists deleted all traces of it immediately upon discovering it in Noah's data banks. However, the Church of Currency is convinced that Noah has a backup data bank that not even the scientists had access to. The Church has been spreading fears of gloom and despair revolving around a doomsday scenario caused by this advanced technology.
